Health care

October 11, 2011

No one seems satisfied with the present state of health care in the United states.   Insurance premiums are going up.   The middle class is complaining about cost and want them lowered.  The single best thing we could do for health care is to find a way to give more choice to consumers.  Let them have the choice to buy the kind of coverage they want and need.    Consumers should be able to purchase a policy with a high deductible.  Those policies have lower premiums that more people could afford.  With a high deductible policy people would consider options before asking for tests and more tests.   Now, we don’t mind extra tests and treatment because the insurance companies pay for it all.    It’s time for a change and to give consumers more choices.
